One of the biggest pitches in selling this house is its rural setting. But, don’t despair. There are both essentials and luxury locations within reach.
Only 10 minutes from home is the town of Marlinton, WV. That’ll suffice for most of your grocery, pharmaceutical, hospitalization, dining, hardware, gas, and educational needs. It has an elementary school and a middle school nearby. The high school is a bit further, but full busing is available. Please note: Marlinton is considered an all season vacation destination.
50 minutes to the south is the Greenbrier Airport with full service to United Airline’s Chicago and Washington DC hubs. Recently, a bus service has been established from Lewisburg, WV to Snowshoe servicing all areas in between (including Marlinton).
Of significant importance is the proximity to the ‘Quiet Zone’. This is a 30 mile radius established around the Green Bank Observatory to protect its research from electromagnetic interference. Succinctly, that means much of the area around this home does not have cell service; though both Marlinton and Snowshoe are partially exempt (only AT&T is allowed in those immediate areas). So, if it’s peace of mind you seek, this is a great motivator.
45 minutes in any direction brings you to a world class location. Whether it be the Greenbrier Resort, the Green Bank Observatory, the Homestead Resort, or Snowshoe Ski Resort, you won’t be short on wonderful adventures.
